Numerically Controlled turret punch press

The PEGA series CNC turret punch presses are the core of AMADA's sheet metal processing machines. The PEGA series provides high productivity for short delivery period and varied item/small-batch production. A wide selection of models are available to respond to diversified demands.

Bridge frame

High precision, stable processing result from optimum frame rigidity. Tooling and machine durability also depend upon efficient frame structuring. AMADA's original, ultrastrong bridge frame(patented in Japan and U.S.A.) provides long service life for tooling and machines as well as retaining precision in high speed operation.

  • Preventing frame deflection, eliminates frame distortion caused by side thrust load during nibbling
  • Eliminates tooling misal ignment giving a longer tooling service life
  • Press mechanism and carriage are incorporated into the bridge frame

Triple-track turret

AMADA's exclusive turret, made possible by the Triple-Track Turret System, has greatly reduced tool changing time.

  • Split-second tooling selection between tracks by an advanced pneumatic striker system
  • Increased turret speed resuIts from the compact turret discand a high powered A.C. servomotor
  • Bi-directional turret rotation further reduces tooling selection time

Hydraulic wet type clutch & brake

The multiple disc friction clutch and brake ensure constant and stable punching at high speed and under high frequency conditions even over long production runs. Solenoid valve controlled by semi-conductor relays ensure fast, extremely reliable clutch and brake operations.

Auto re-positioning

The work clamps can be moved to a new clamping position automatically using simple NC commands, to extend the maximum processing area.
The work holders hold the work while repositioning to ensure processing accuracy.

Work chute

Enables automatic removal of work and scrap without disruption of machine operation. The advantages of the work chute include the ability to process components with corner radii on which normal micro-joint processing cannot be done.

Long tool balancer and punch assembly jig

A built-in pneumatic tool balancing device enables safe and quick replacement of 3½" and 4½" station tooling. Punch assembly jig enables easy, fast tooling assembly and disassembly.

Auto-Index

The Auto-Index System features two tool stations controlled by simple NC commands which can be rotated through 360° in 0.01° increments. The system enables the processing of complex shaped products with a minimum number of tools. The AMADA Auto-Index System provides dramatically reduced processing time, reduced tooling costs and improved finishing precision.

  • Auto-Index System enables punching at any angle with one tool, thus eliminating the need for special key angle tooling
  • Combined with special shaped tooling, the Auto-Index System enables complex shapes to be processed
  • Punching with Auto-Index Systemreduces processing time significantly compared to nibbling

Tooling

AMADA's genuine toolings perform high precision processing with thin and thick materials. Excellent durability provides low cost performance. Its long guide system also features minimized eccentric load. Fit-end work holding features easy micro-joint processing.
Forming including louvering and burring can also be performed. During punching operations, the work is held between the punch guide face and the die to eliminate distortion, especially of thin materials.

Simple tooling replacement

Eliminates alignment after tooling replacement. Processing can be started immediately. Slug ejectors eject the slug after punching as illustrated to eliminate the slug being pulled back onto the top of the lower turret.

New control system for higher level performance with simplicity and convenience

CNC and MMC combined

Amada's 04PC Control combines Amada's experience and know-how with customer requirements. This control combines the first generation of controls CNC (Computer Numerical Control) with MMC (Man Machine Control). This new technology is the first step toward artificial intelligence in a punching machine.
